All About Fat loss

A healthy weight is an important element of good health. How much you eat and what you eat play important role in maintaining a healthy weight or loosing weight. Exercise is the other key factor.

Being overweight or obese can led to a range of health problem. Carrying excess body weight can increase the risk of serious health problems including heart disease, hypertension and type II diabetes. Main cause of obese or overweight is due to deposits of excess fats in the body. There are 3 different types of fat cells in the body: white, brown and beige.

Fat cells are stored in 3 ways: Essential fat, subcutaneous fat and visceral fat

Essential fat is necessary for a healthy functional body. It stores energy and produce hormones that are then secreted into a blood stream.

Subcutaneous fat is found directly under the skin. It’s the fat that’s measured using skin fold calipers to estimate your total body fat

Visceral fat or deep fat wraps around inner organs and spells trouble for your health. If you have a large waist or belly, of course you have visceral fat and risk for diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Most of the visceral fat can be seen in belly, thighs, waistline and buttocks. This visceral fat also known as stubborn fat.

Fat loss

One way your body stores energy by building up the subcutaneous fat, to get rid of built-up subcutaneous fat or visceral fat, you must burn energy or calories. It is possible to lose both subcutaneous and visceral fat, while subcutaneous fat loss might be the goal for the people who wants to fit into smaller clothes. Loosing visceral fat improves health.

Think of weight loss on the first thought that cross mind is that of workout, gym, sweat, calories, diet etc. Now we can deny the crucial role each one plays in the journey of weight loss. You must devote time to workout either at gym or in the comfort of yourself easily by advanced fat loss equipment i.e., non-surgical fat loss methods.

What is a slimming machine: A slimming machine uses electro therapy to stimulate muscles in an attempt to reduce cellulite (fat cells), improve muscle tone, release toxins in the body and reduce body fat. The ray emitted by the machine are set to contract the muscles of the body, causing the muscles to use up surrounding fat as an energy source

Type of non-surgical fat loss methods: Lipolaser, RF ultra, Cool sculpting, EMS, Thermoslim, FIR, Cellulite massage.

Cool plas : It is a non-surgical fat reduction cooling technique used to reduce fat in targeted areas. It is based on the science of cryolipolysis. Cryolipolysis uses cold temperatures to freeze and destroy fat cells. The procedure was created to address specific areas of stubborn fat not responsive to diet and exercise. It targets fat cells on inner and outer thighs, abdomen, sides and upper arms and double chin. You may experience temporary side effects which should go away with in few days following treatment. Side effects may include swelling, bruising and sensitivity

Lipolaser: Lipolaser is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses a laser to melt away fat under the skin. It is effectively used for removal of fat from specific areas of the body, such as stomach, upper arms, upper thighs, flanks, chin. Lipolaser results are immediate.

Radiofrequency (RF): Radio frequency ultrasound is a combination of ultrasound and radio frequency technology which tightens tissue deep down thus treating skin laxity and reducing fat. It can be used on both face and the body. Body contouring, skin tightening, facial rejuvenation, removes wrinkle and increase the collagen. RF melting is one of our popular non invasive fat loss method, it is notable reductions to stubborn areas of fat in a short time.

EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation): EMS indeed causes significant effects on decreasing waist circumference, abdominal obesity, subcutaneous fat mass and body fat. In EMS impulses are generated by a device and delivered through electrodes on the skin in direct proximity to the muscles to be stimulated which contracts the muscles just like an active exercise.

Thermoslim: The low frequency electricity stimulates the muscle until contraction effect decomposes a large amount of fat cells. The electrical pad placed in the exact points can adjust the function of the internal body by accelerating the metabolism and preventing the formation of new fat cells. The infrared rays penetrate directly into the cell structure and causes the fat cells, catabolism which favors the reduction of fat or destroy fat cells.

FIR (Far Infrared Radiation): FIR is a type of energy where that penetrates through skin up to 2 inches which helps in enhancing blood circulation, reducing pain, strengthening the cardiovascular system, easing joint stiffness & inflammation and revitalizing skin cells. Amazingly it was noticed the FIR is capable of stimulating weight loss by improving the body’s basic metabolism. When body is exposed to FIR energy metabolic waste and toxins are more efficiently cleaned at the cellular level. When your body disposes the toxins, you experience fewer cravings for sugars and fats that unhealthy cells cry out for. Moreover, healthy functioning cells are able to process more complex high-quality nutrients instead of subsisting on simple sugars with out converting them into fat and cellular waste products. That is why your body will stop craving for more sugar.

Cellulite massage: Cellulite is a term used to describe an area of the body where skin has dimple appearance. It is generally seen on the hips, buttocks and thighs. It can also occur on the lower belly and upper arms. It can be seen in obese and overweight people. And sometimes can be seen in lean people also. Your skin fat muscles, and other tissues are in layers. Cellulite is thought to arise when the fibrous bones of connective tissue that anchor the skin to muscles break down allowing fat cells to push up into the skin layer. This creates uneven, bumpy texture that gives cellulite its cottage cheese like appearance. Cellulite massage can improve the appearance of cellulite by draining excess body fluid redistributing fat cells, improving circulation, plumping up skin.

Battle against bulge via Meso-Lipo Therapy

Win the battle against bulge with Meso-Lipo Therapy by ReeAge Clinic, Bangalore

If you are no couch potato and try your best to eat healthy (with PMS-excused binges) but still feel you are more flabulous than fabulous, then it may be time to take a look at mesotherapy. I first heard about mesotherapy four years ago from a friend who was thinking about trying it. We were the same in terms of being frustrated with certain parts of our bodies that had accumulated stubborn pockets of fat, and even if we were quite active and did our best to avoid evil (albeit delicious) food, we lamented on how we still felt “jiggly with it.” I did some research and what attracted me to meso was that it was non-invasive and had no down time. I went for four sessions despite being told it only had a 30 to 40 percent efficacy rate, some patients reacted quite well to it, while some had no visible change whatsoever. Sad to say, I was grouped in with the latter, and felt like I would just have to learn to love my love handles, so to speak.

Bumping into an acquaintance at work last November prompted me to take another look at mesotherapy. She had given birth to her second child and although she was quite lean, there were still parts of her that refused to bid farewell to the fat that she had gained while pregnant. She swore by mesotheraphy and her doctor, Aivee Aguilar-Teo of NU U Asia. Since there is no harm in having a consultation, I made an appointment the week after. I had a lot of questions because of trepidation toward meso (since it didn’t work before) and Dra. Teo patiently explained to me what I could expect from giving it a second chance but, she warned, mesotherapy or in her case, meso-lipo therapy would only be effective if I continued to exercise regularly, watch my diet and increase my intake of water as it would certainly speed up my metabolism.

As a quick backgrounder, mesotherapy was developed in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor and meso-lipo therapy which falls under it uses medically formulated micro injections given into the mesoderm, or the fat layer which may help in ridding targeted areas of undesired pockets and bulges of fat. In my case, I was advised by Dr. Teo to start off with my tummy area and if I took to the treatment well (once a week and a minimum of 5 sessions) then I could move on to other problematic parts. I lay on the bed as she ‘marked’ me with a felt tip pen and showed me her meso “gun” and proceeded to (as I have now coined) ‘poke’ me. For those who are afraid of needles and are not vain enough to tolerate the slight discomfort when having a series of shots, this is not for you. To be honest, I barely felt the needle going in and out and was done in under 15 minutes. Next step was to have an Accent treatment which made use of radio frequency (heat) massaged on to my body in order to help spread the medicines and to further tone and tighten the skin.

Ironically on my way out, I bumped into a relative who was also going to start her first session of meso and we promised to keep one another updated with the progress. The next day, she called me to say that she had shed five pounds after her session but had experienced some bruising on the parts where she was “poked.” I, on the other hand had not had any bruising but no weight or inch loss either; I had committed to at least five sessions so I promised I was going to be patient. I remained faithful to my weekly treatments and even moved on to have my inner thighs and my bra line fat meso’d, and developed some bruising eventually, and, at one point, an allergic rash. All of this, Dr. Teo explained were normal reactions and after two to three sessions depending on how my body was reacting, she would adjust the dosage and the ingredients put into my personal fat melting cocktail. I remained optimistic and checked my inch lost and weight loss every week.

It was on the day after my fifth treatment that I had a very, very pleasant surprise. I gazed into my full-length mirror and realized that my tummy bulge had certainly flattened out and I was more shapely. My waist (which was always my problem area since I was a teenager) had actually reduced in size and, even more dramatic my back fat or “wings” was practically gone. I excitedly pulled out clothes from my closet that I didn’t have the guts to wear since they were a bit more revealing and of a more body hugging cut, and they fit perfectly, no uncomfortable adjusting to be made. Bouyed by my appearance, I signed up for five more sessions with my sights set on a weekend in Boracay, excess fat-free.

Although I am now a believer, I have to agree with Dr. Teo’s advice that meso is not for everyone. “I really interview meso candidates with regard to their medical history and their expectations, says Teo. “It’s not for those who have hyperthyroid, are hypertensive or diabetic, but it is definitely a safer alternative to liposuction and is something that you can do every once in a while when you need spot treatments.” Priced at around P3,500 per area, it is regarded as a reasonable quick fix.

It is important to note that there may be other side effects that I personally didn’t experience and that it is not a cure all especially if one is not disciplined enough to be active and to watch their diet, but suffice to say, for those who have tried everything (health wise) getting ‘poked’ is certainly one way of getting into flirting shape without breaking the bank.
